GONORRHEA
Gonorrhea is a common sexually transmitted disease which is caused by a bacteria, the gonoccoc. If not treated early, the gonorrhea can cause serious problems, especially for women. This STD affects mainly the young people and the single, as they may change their sex partners quite often.

HOW DOES THE GONORRHEA MANIFEST?
More than half of the women infected have no clinical symptoms whatsoever, although they are infected. They are still contagious, and they will infect their lovers, who will have symptoms.

If symptoms do appear, they will be quite discreet in manifestation, and may include:
- discharge from the penis or vagina
- the need to urinate often
- lower abdominal pain
- burning or pain when urinating
- bleeding between monthly periods

The symptoms are more violent in men:
- very burning sensation when urinating
- impure urine
- abundant discharge

HOW DO WE DETECT GONORRHEA?
Lab testing is one method, and the blood analysis is another. The test is fairly simple: the doctor takes a sample of fluid from the penis or from the vagina and sends it to a lab.

HOW DO WE TREAT GONORRHEA?
Gonorrhea is treated with antibiotics. The treatment consists in a single dose of an antibiotic, orally.

Tantra Magazine Common treatments use drugs such as ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, cefixime, ceftriaxone, and most recently - azithromycin. Azithromycin is a single-dose oral medication.

The most common side effects with 2-gram azithromycin include nausea, diarrhea/loose stools, vomiting, abdominal pain, vaginitis, dyspepsia, and dizziness. The treatment may also be injected.

The cure comes rapidly, but the patient must still be kept under surveillance for a while. If discovered and treated in time and correctly, gonorrhea leaves no serious marks, but ineffective or incomplete treatment can result in serious ulterior problems, such as chronic lower abdominal pain, sterility, tubal pregnancy, and painful joints.

In order to avoid reinfection and potential transmission of infection to others, one should stop making love until both lovers are cured.

HOW DO WE PREVENT GONORRHEA?
One can get and spread gonorrhea through oral, anal, and/or vaginal sex. Preventing gonorrhea means approaching sexual relationships responsibly and this, ultimately, means preventing any STD: limiting the number of one's sex partners, using condoms, and avoiding any sexual contact if one suspects being infected. One should also visit a local STD clinic, hospital, or doctor. Be sure your lover is treated to avoid becoming reinfected.

Tantra Magazine Tantra Magazine MYCOPLASMOSIS
These diseases, still fairly little known to both doctors and scientists are caused by two bacteria Mycoplasma hominis and Ureaplasma urealyticum, which are usually present in the vaginal flora.

These germs will develop and they will become pathogens, if the conditions are proper, such as infectious diseases and the administration of certain drugs.

HOW DO MYCOPLASMA MANIFEST?
In 40 percent of the cases this STD passes on unnoticed, because it has no symptoms. However, in certain cases there are some indications that something may be wrong: in women, vaginal discharge and a slight sensation of burning when urinating. In the men, there may be a slight morning discharge.

HOW DO WE TREAT MYCOPLASMA?
An antibiotic treatment, followed by both lovers, for three weeks. Ineffective or incomplete treatment can result in:
- repeated abortions and sterility in women, caused by a inflammation of the trumps
- sterility in men
