R.: The orgasmic pleasures that you describe in your books are much higher than those of even the most refined lovers.

D.O.: Tantrism generates unexpectedly profound states.

R.: You mention that a man should not ejaculate.

D.O.: The great tantric masters assert that the difference in rhythm between male and female sexuality limits the sexual union: thus, it must be removed. For this you need a complete yogi practice focused on breathing, which allows one lover to explore the other’s sensorial space.

This is based on the principle of the permanent receiving of energy and not on the western means of wasting the energy through ejaculation.

AN EXTRAORDINARY SPIRITUAL ADVENTURE
In 1968, the Swiss writer Daniel Odier went to Asia after seduced by the mysteries of oriental spirituality. He met Lalita Devi, a Tantric master, which for him was a veritable rebirth. Thanks to her, he learned what it means to be truly alive and to perceive the divine nature of love.

“Devi took my hand with a quick movement and placed it on the burning coals. I shouted and I drew it back immediately. However, I could not see and feel any burn on it. But the coals marked my heavy hand. Devi looked at me with a calm and mysterious smile: "What you just felt was the subtle essence of fire."

I remained silent, looking at my palm as if I expected to see the wounds. I drank some tea and I started to talk about this feeling of withdrawal, of resistance that I felt during meditation. I told her all about it.

Our strongest resistance is in front of ecstasy because we feel that in order to completely abandon ourselves to it, we must give up all that gives us security and stability, to give up all the beliefs and principles that we have created and maintained for years.

We must give up our entire philosophy on life. Our beliefs, our ideas, even the concept of the void, of the Absolute and of Shiva can prevent us from reaching ecstasy.

It is difficult to give up our common ideas. It is even more difficult to give up our philosophical and religious concepts and beliefs.

What is the difference between a believer and an atheist? They are two sides of the same coin. It is not a matter of faith or of lack of faith. It concerns communication with the nature of the human mind itself.

It is as if we are sinking in a lake. Sometimes we get lost in all the lessons and concepts given by society and we don’t realize that this is how we have built an obstacle between us and God. Even the most subtle teachings must be given up on our way to God, after we have assimilated them.

The tantric’s courage consists in the renunciation to these teachings as soon as they are profoundly understood.

When there is a permanent transformation, comes a moment when the consciousness does not support itself on anything. It is the moment of awakening. Only the complete abandonment of our preconceived ideas can open the gate to God.
